Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Hanford CA 333 AM PDT Wed Aug 21 2019 .SYNOPSIS...Temperatures will warm slightly but remain at or below normal across the Central California Interior through Thursday. Warming will continue through the weekend, with highs topping out around 4-8 degrees above normal by early next week. Dry weather will continue through the forecast period. && .DISCUSSION... The high pressure ridge has been suppressed and displaced to the south of California lately, resulting in a few days of below normal temperatures across our area. This pattern is progged to continue as a developing low pressure trough swings into the Pacific Northwest coast and tracks inland today through Thursday. This will help to maintain our temperatures at or slightly below climo for a couple more days. As the trough continues to lift out, the ridge will restrengthen for the end of the week into early next week. By Friday, highs will push a bit above seasonal averages and continue to trend upward a few degrees through Monday. Widespread triple digit highs will return to the San Joaquin Valley, lower foothills and desert areas by the start of next week. Models generally agree on a dry forecast through early next week but there are some hints at possible moisture tracking into our area near midweek as a disturbance drifts northwest offshore the California coast.Source: NWS
