August 22, 2019 - Sacramento – Senator Andreas Borgeas (R-Fresno) says Senate Bill 402 passed its final vote in the legislature on Monday.

SB 402 will extend the ability of the Adventure Trails system in Inyo County to designate combined-use roads for Off-Highway Vehicles (OHV) up to 10 miles until January 1, 2025, and further evaluate the safety and effectiveness of these routes.

“SB 402 will allow the Adventure Trails system to safely remain in operation giving the community access to trails and natural resource protections,” said Senator Borgeas. “Improving access to these trails gives increased opportunities for all to enjoy the beauty of our publicly-owned lands, and I am very fortunate to have the support of my colleagues.”

Assemblyman Devon J. Mathis (R-Visalia) presented the bill on behalf of Senator Andreas Borgeas (R-Fresno) before the State Assembly.

“I applaud Senator Borgeas’ dedication to the people that reside and recreate in beautiful Inyo County,” said Assemblyman Mathis.  “These trails are a wonderful part of the region which offers people unbeatable opportunities to explore and learn.”

The bill is supported by a number of local organizations including the Inyo County Board of Supervisors, the Off Road Legislative Association, and the Rural County Representatives of California. The bill will now be sent to the Governor for his consideration.
