September 26, 2019 - SEQUOIA AND KINGS CANYON NATIONAL PARKS, Calif. - On September 28, 2019, more than 150,000 volunteers across the country will join in trail maintenance and planting projects, trash pick-ups, and other activities aimed at restoring and caring for our public lands to celebrate the 26th annual National Public Lands Day (NPLD). Organized each year by the National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF), National Public Lands Day is the nation’s largest single-day volunteer effort for public lands.

Come out to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks on NPLD to join in on this effort! Park staff will be leading volunteers in a variety of projects at Dorst Creek Campground in Sequoia National Park. Projects include picnic table relocation, litter removal and cleaning out bear boxes to prepare the campground for winter closing.

All participants will receive a fee-free day coupon to be used another day at a National Park.

Registration in advance is required by September 25th. Please RSVP to seki_volunteer@nps.gov or call 559-565-4287.

Registration booth at event opens at 9:30 a.m. with projects going from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
