With Highway 140 Closed at Midpines use Highway 49 from Mariposa to Oakhurst, then Highway 41 to Yosemite.
Use Highway 120 to Yosemite,
Highway 140 is open El Portal to Yosemite,
All park roads open. Expect smoky conditions.

UPDATE: Good Afternoon, This is the Mariposa County Unified School District informing you that Lake Don Pedro Elementary, Greeley Hill Elementary and Coulterville High School will not be holding classes on Wednesday, October (9) ninth and Thursday October (10) tenth, 2019. Mariposa County High School Students who attend classes at MCHS will ride bus route 4 which will pick up MCHS students at Lake Don Pedro Elementary at 6:15 am. Students will return to Lake Don Pedro Elementary at 4:30pm. Route 1 and 2 will not run at all while school is closed.
This is due to a PG&E confirmed public safety power shut down for the Mariposa County North Side community. You can find more information on the PG&E website.
We will be utilizing emergency days, formerly known as snow days, so please anticipate that students and staff will be attending classes on April (10) tenth and May (1) first, 2020 to make-up these missed instructional days.
At this time we anticipate power to be back on for classes to resume on Friday, if this does not happen we will post information on our social media pages.
Mariposa County Schools
UPDATE: Good Afternoon, This is the Mariposa County Unified School District informing you that beginning tomorrow, Wednesday October (9) ninth, 2019, El Portal Elementary and Yosemite Park High School students who live in the Midpines area and are unable to attend classes in El Portal due to the highway 140 road closure will be given the opportunity to attend a supervised independent study program in Mariposa or pick up Independent Study packets to complete at home..
Students in the Midpines area may catch bus route seven with pick-up at the Midpines store at 6:45am, and drop off at 4:00pm. These students will attend in a self contained classroom setting in room number 61 on the Mariposa County High School campus. Students arriving by bus will be supervised until the anticipated start time for this classroom of 9am, parents who wish to drive their students to school, need to have them to room 61 by 9am. Mrs. Freeman will be monitoring the students.
Parents who wish to simply pick up packets to complete at home can do so at MCHS room number 61.
Mariposa County High School
UPDATES: We wanted to inform you of a few updates and changes that are being made due to the recent wildfires and emergency situations.
1 - This Friday's Football Game will be moved to Waterford. The Grizzlies will face off against Waterford, at Waterford. Game times remain the same (MCHS wishes to extend our thanks and gratitude to Waterford. They have been wonderful with working with us, as well as offering the gate to us. If you can, head over to Waterford this Friday to show your support for our Grizzlies. We will be the home team, but seated on the visitor side.
2 - The Homecoming Dance will be postponed to a later date. At this time, a date has not been set for the new homecoming dance, but we will keep you updated as we receive information. Again, there is NO dance this Friday, October 11. Once a date has been set for the new dance, we will update you.
