November 10, 2019 - The National Weather Service Hanford Office reports the latest forecast from the Climate Prediction Center shows the likelihood of warmer than normal temperatures and a good chance of below normal precipitation over much of California in the 6-10 day period.
Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Hanford CA 130 AM PST Sun Nov 10 2019 .SYNOPSIS... High temperatures through the middle of this week will be well above normal for this time of year and will then lower closer to average afterward. Dry weather will persist through at least the next seven days. && .DISCUSSION...A band of high clouds associated with an upper-level disturbance, or shortwave trough, that is currently passing over the Pacific Northwest into the Northern Rockies are moving over northern California and will arrive over our region during the next couple of hours. Expect modest cooling in terms of high temperatures for today. Meanwhile, an upper-level area of low pressure will continue to move over southern CA and northern Baja and push further south by tonight as an upper-level ridge of high pressure builds along the West Coast. The ridge will continue to build on Monday before moving inland over CA on Tuesday. Thus, we anticipate an upward trend in temperatures on Monday through Tuesday. High temperatures will reach around 10 to 15 degrees above average by Tuesday, and the warmest locations will once again reach into the lower 80s. While the ridge gradually moves further inland, little change in daytime highs will likely occur on Wednesday. Hazy stagnant conditions will continue in the Central Valley with relatively cool overnight lows until midweek. High and mid-level cloud cover will begin to increase by late Wednesday. By Thursday, a weak trough of low pressure will allow temperatures to begin to moderate, although highs will remain a few degrees above average. Skies will remain partly to mostly cloudy, but no precipitation is expected due to limited moisture. Temperatures will continue to lower a little on Friday, or near seasonal averages. Little change in weather and temperatures is likely for next weekend, although it may warm back up a little as models forecast another ridge of high pressure to build off the coast. Overall, a dry forecast will continue for the next seven days with some fluctuation in temperatures, especially daytime highs.Source: NWS
