Update 5:25 A.M.: Sierra National Forest Creek Fire Public Information Map for Sunday, October 11, 2020 - Shows Contained Line and Uncontrolled Fire Edge

October 11, 2020 - Overnight infrared mapping has the Creek Fire at 333,480 Interpreted Acres.
Comments and notes on flight:
A peninsula in Div. J ran north along the Cassidy Meadows and the next drainage west, both showing intense heat.
Growth on the eastern peninsula in Div. N has, for the most part, stopped moving east but continues to creep north along the entire front (Div. M).
The rest of the fire perimeter continues to creep out in small pockets of intense and scattered heat along Div. J, M, and P.
Scattered heat signatures along the west and south continue to show signs of cooling down, though there are still small pockets of dense and intense heat within the perimeter.
Some of the scattered heat polygons near Div. R and S appear to be warming up slightly.

*Note:

Yesterday’s perimeter (20201010; 333,880 acres) provided an acreage that did not subtract the unburned islands within.  Today’s perimeter (20201011; 333,480 acres) has already accounted for the 1,487 acres in unburned islands within the perimeter.  The calculated growth of 990 acres is based off the NIFC reported 332,490 acres.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact IRIN.

Saturday Evening Update: 333,880 acres and 49% containment.
