mariposa county covid19 update

November 7, 2020 - Mariposa County Health and Human Services Public Health Branch in coordination with Mariposa County Unified School District reports a second case related to Mariposa County schools.

This case has been identified as a 31 year old female. She is currently isolating at home and has been confirmed as person-to person transmission. The contact tracing has been completed and all contacts have received quarantine guidance. No students have been identified as contacts.

Mariposa County Public Health urges the community to stay vigilant in slowing the spread of COVID-19. Wearing masks, socially distancing, and practicing good hand hygiene are still important tools in stopping the spread. In addition, it is important to stay home when you are sick. This can help prevent the spread of all germs and keep the community healthy.

Free testing is available at the Mariposa County Senior Center at 5246 Spriggs Lane, Tuesdays through Saturdays from 7:00 A.M. - 11:30 A.M. and 1:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. All residents are encouraged to get tested regularly, especially if they are interacting with others. Appointments can be made at www.lhi.cares/covidtesting or by calling 1-888-634-1123. Walk-ins are available during open hours. Children 13 and over can register themselves, but they must be accompanied by someone 18 years or older to the testing site.

Who should Test: Fever, cough, shortness of breath.

Older patients and individuals who have severe underlying medical conditions or those with immunocompromised: contact your healthcare provider early, even if your illness is mild

COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS:
