July 7, 2022 - Merced – Merced PD Gang Unit arrests a Turlock man for attempted homicide after he stabbed a Food 4 Less employee on June 29, 2022.
Merced Gang Officer Taylor Rocha conducted follow up on a stabbing that occurred on June 29, 2022, outside of the Food 4 Less grocery store located in the 1100 block of West Olive Ave. The victim was identified as an employee of Food 4 Less. The employee was transported to a local hospital where they were treated for their injuries.
With the assistance of the community, Officer Rocha was able to identify the suspect as Juan Guzman (19) out of Turlock. Once a warrant was issued for Guzman’s arrest, Turlock Police Department Officers located Guzman during a traffic stop around 12:30 A.M. on July 7, 2022. Guzman (pictured) was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Jail.
On July 7, 2022, at approximately 9:00 A.M., Merced PD Gang Officers served a search warrant in the 1100 block of Park Street in Turlock related to this incident. After the search warrant was served, Guzman was transferred to the Merced County Jail and booked for attempted homicide. The Merced Police Department would like to thank the community for their assistance in helping solve this case.
