Here is the breakdown for the Central Valley
Stockton Division – 173 customers out on 15 outages. This Division includes San Joaquin, Calaveras and Amador counties.
Yosemite Division – 900 customers out on 21 outages. This Division includes Stanislaus, Tuolumne, Merced, Mariposa and Madera counties.
Fresno Division – 1,215 customers out on 59 outages. This Division includes all of Fresno County, most of Kings County and portions of Tulare County.
Kern Division – 1,536 customers out on 26 outages. This Division includes Kern County.
February 24, 2023 - PG&E Outage Update for 9:30 A.M. Currently we have more than 109,000 customers out systemwide from storm related outages.
Here is the breakdown for the Central Valley
Stockton Division – 1,399 customers out on 47 outages. This Division includes San Joaquin, Calaveras and Amador counties.
Yosemite Division – 1043 customers out on 31 outages. This Division includes Stanislaus, Tuolumne, Merced, Mariposa and Madera counties.
Fresno Division - 2,616 customers out on 66 outages. This Division includes all of Fresno County, most of Kings County and portions of Tulare County.
Kern Division – 168 customers out on 13 outages. This Division includes Kern County.
The heaviest impacts are in the northern parts of our service territory, but the storm is moving south toward us.
Our forecasts show a strong weather system that continues to result in gusty winds, widespread rain, and significant mountain snow. A slight chance of thunderstorms is also forecast for the San Joaquin Valley today. Rainfall amounts will range from 1-2” across the valley. Snow levels will begin around 2500-3000’ this morning and then rise to 3000-4000’ during the afternoon as milder air gets pulled in from the South. Along the central and southern Sierra, around an additional 1-3” of accumulation will be possible between 2500-3000’ through the morning with 3-5’ above 4000’ and around 1-2’ along the Grapevine. Gusty south winds will also accompany the heavier precipitation through the afternoon. Winds are expected to reach 15-30 mph with widespread gusts 40-50 mph possible across Stockton and Yosemite Divisions and 30-50+ mph for Fresno and Kern. Winds will diminish by later this evening, but may remain locally gusty over higher terrain
We currently have 48,000 customers out in the Humboldt area and more than 25,000 out in our North Valley region which includes Redding, Red Bluff and Chico.
Since the beginning of the low-snow winter storm that arrived in PG&E’s service area on Tuesday 02/21 at 11:00 am, we safely restored 97% of impacted customers within the first 12 hours.
As of 6:00 p.m. on 02/23, PG&E had restored 412,222 customers since the beginning of the storm. I’ll update that number later today.
A total number of 568 crews (over 2,800 crew members) across the PG&E service area are currently responding to power outages safely and as quickly as possible.
