June 29, 2023 - Placer County Sheriff's Office officials report on deputy’s arrest.

We are sharing disappointing news about a former Placer County Sheriff’s deputy. This evening (on Wednesday), sheriff’s detectives Placer County Sheriff Office logoarrested Jon Persinger of Rocklin for soliciting prostitution while he was on and off duty and engaging in unlawful access to law enforcement telecommunications data.

The Placer County Sheriff’s Office asked the Placer County District Attorney to conduct a joint investigation on January 12th,  once allegations of sexual misconduct against Persinger were brought forth. Persinger was then placed on administrative leave. Our investigation revealed Persinger had been involved in several incidents of sexual misconduct between September and November of 2022; Persinger was promptly terminated from his position at the sheriff’s office. He was employed with PCSO for four years. The sheriff’s office takes all allegations seriously and will hold its members accountable for their actions.

“We have no tolerance for law enforcement misconduct on or off duty. We have reported the allegations to the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training under Senate Bill 2,” said Sheriff Wayne Woo.
