June 20, 2024 – Kern County Sheriff's Office officials report that on June 17, 2024, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, Kern County High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force (KC-HIDTA) concluded a narcotics investigation with the execution of a search warrant at a residence in the 4400 block of Cimarron Ridge Drive, Bakersfield. The investigation resulted in the arrest of two (2) adults and the seizure of large quantities of narcotics, and U.S currency derived from narcotics sales.
During the investigation, Victor Bravo (age 38) and Ruth Bayaona (age 36) both of Bakersfield were found to be maintaining the residence for the purpose of drug sales. A search of the residence revealed approximately 7 pounds of powder fentanyl, several hundred (M-30) laced fentanyl pills, 7.5 pounds of heroin, 3 pounds of methamphetamine, 13 ounces of cocaine, and additional evidence of narcotics sales.
Due to the dangerous drugs, the locations in which they were found in the residence where the children could access them, the four (4) juvenile children found living in the residence were taken into protective custody by the Kern County Child Protective Services.
The Kern County Probation Department assisted the KC-HIDTA Task Force in the investigation.
Victor Bravo and Ruth Bayaona were booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, Lerdo Justice Facility for the following charges: child endangerment, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of sales, manufacturing a controlled substance, maintaining a residence for drug sales, and conspiracy to commit a crime.
