Our forests, parks and rangelands are a natural treasure so please do your part in protecting the open spaces we all value. Enjoy your public lands and protect them by doing your part in fire prevention. Carrying tools to extinguish a flame could prevent a random spark from becoming a wildfire. Take time to download apps and seek out local information about fire restrictions. It takes all of us to prevent wildfires.
Above normal temperatures are expected across California and the northern half of the West, with low relative humidity of 5-20% from the Colorado River into central California, the central/western Great Basin, and Inland Northwest. Abundant moisture will remain across the greater Four Corners today for scattered wet thunderstorms, with heavy rain and flooding possible from the West Slope to the central New Mexico mountains. Isolated to scattered wet thunderstorms will develop east of the Divide in Montana and Wyoming, with widespread showers and thunderstorms across the Dakotas into the Upper Midwest. Cooler temperatures are forecast across the Northeast with scattered showers and thunderstorms, but above normal temperatures will continue in the Appalachians and Mid-Atlantic. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop along the Southeast coast, Florida, and south Texas. Above normal temperatures are likely across much of Interior and southwest Alaska, with isolated mixed wet and dry thunderstorms.
