June 22, 2024 – Kern County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on June 20, 2024, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, Kern County High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force (KC-HIDTA) concluded a narcotics investigation with an undercover operation and the execution of search warrants at two residences and a ranch property in southeast Bakersfield. Search warrants were served in the 4700 block of Cottonwood Road, 3400 block of Anderson Street and the 1900 block of Missouri Avenue. The investigation resulted in the arrest of one (1) adult male and the seizure of large quantities of methamphetamine and marijuana.

During the investigation, Simon Solorio (age 42) of Mexico City, Mexico was found to be involved in the sales and trafficking of large quantities of drugs and to be using several residences and a ranch property for the purpose of concealing the illegal drug sales activity. The investigation resulted in the seizure of 40 pounds of methamphetamine, 76 pounds of processed marijuana and a loaded handgun.

Deputies from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, Gang Suppression Section, officers from the Bakersfield Police Department, Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT), along with agents from the Bakersfield office of the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) assisted the KC-HIDTA Task Force in the investigation.

Simon Solorio was booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, Lerdo Justice Facility for the following charges: possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of sales, transportation of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana for the purpose of sales, and maintaining a residence for drug sales.
