Rollins Lake Missing Watercraft Rider Update
June 26, 2024 – Nevada County Sheriff’s Office officials report that they continue to work in partnership with several agencies in a collaborative effort to locate the missing man at Rollins Lake. The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office, Placer County Sheriff's Office, and Yuba County Sheriff's Department all have dive teams who have been actively searching with sonar technology as well as remote operated symbiotic robots. PG&E has also been assisting with lidar scanning technology.
The Nevada County Sheriff's Search & Rescue volunteers also joined the search efforts on Tuesday and have been searching with their three cadaver dogs. CHP - Air Operations also joined the search and conducted several flyovers of the lake.
Unfortunately, we have not located our missing person. The search remains active and will resume again in the morning, unless he is located sooner.
Our thoughts are with those affected by this tragedy.
