Search for Man at Rollins Reservoir
June 25, 2024 – Placer County Sheriff's Office officials report that at 11:45 A.M. on Monday, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about three people who fell off a jet ski and into the water at Rollins Reservoir. None of them were wearing life jackets. While two women were rescued and are okay, a man remains missing.
Our dive team is currently on the water, utilizing a side-scan sonar to aid in the search. Nevada County Sheriff's Office is also on the water using sonar technology.

Rollins Lake Personal Watercraft Rider Missing:
Nevada County Sheriff’s Office officials report that they are in partnership with Placer County Sheriff's Office are currently looking for a missing male jet skier at Rollins Lake. The man, along with two female friends, went jet skiing earlier on Monday and occupied one jet ski. When maneuvering the jet ski on a turn, all three riders were thrown from the jet ski; the two females resurfaced, but the male remains missing at this time.
911 calls began coming into the Nevada County Regional Dispatch Center and Placer County’s Dispatch Center at 11:39 A.M. after discovering the male was missing. Both agencies have been working together to locate the missing man. Dive teams from both agencies are actively searching using sonar technology. Both Sheriff’s Offices kindly ask that community members avoid the lake at this time to allow for emergency personnel to continue the search. Updates will be shared as they become available.
