June 28, 2024 – Kern County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on June 26, 2024, a patrol deputy conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a sport utility vehicle (SUV) in the 2900 block of 24th Street for several California Vehicle Code Violations. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, Adolfo Moreno-Ramirez (Age 48) of Mexico City, Mexico was contacted and found to be an unlicensed driver.

Further investigation resulted in the discovery of 231 pounds of methamphetamine concealed in several containers in the passenger compartment of the vehicle. Due to the large quantity of narcotics located inside the vehicle, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, Kern County High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (KC-HIDTA) Task Force along with deputies from the Gang Suppression Section were called out to assist and assume the investigation.    

Adolfo Moreno-Ramirez was found to have been involved in the trafficking of the large quantity of methamphetamine from an unknown location in southern California for the purposes of sales. Adolfo Moreno-Ramirez was booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, Lerdo Justice Facility for the following charges: possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of sales, and for transportation of a controlled substance.
