Homicide **UPDATE**
September 7, 2024 – Merced, CA – Merced Police Department officials report that on September 3, 2024, at approximately 8:31 P.M. (2031 hours), officers responded to 3900 block of Alviso Dr. for a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival Officers located the victim, suffering from several puncture wounds to the left side of his upper torso. The victim was transported to an area hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
Witnesses identified 17-year-old juvenile as the suspect in the assault. Through follow up investigation, Detectives were able to contact the juvenile and negotiate a surrender. On September 6, 2024, the juvenile surrendered to Merced Police and was booked into the juvenile hall.
