Homicide Suspect Arrested 

October 4, 2024 – Fresno Police Department officials report that Detectives have arrested 41-year-old Ronald Zavala Ebanez for the murder of Ricardo Martinez Olguin.

In the early hours of Sunday, September 22, 2024, just after 4:00 a.m., Southeast officers from the Fresno Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the 4400 Block of East Floradora. Upon arrival, officers found 40-year-old Ricardo Martinez Olguin lying beside his bicycle in the roadway, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Olguin, who was conscious when officers arrived, said he had been shot by an unknown individual on a bicycle. He was transported to Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC), where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Homicide detectives identified Ronald Zavala Ebanez as the person responsible for fatally shooting Olguin.  Ebanez was arrested and charged with Olguin’s murder and is currently being held at the Fresno County Jail on one count of murder and one count of assault with a firearm.
