Merced Homicide Suspect Arrested 

October 26, 2024 – Merced Police Department officials report that on October 24, 2024, Merced MPD FloresPolice investigators executed a search warrant in the 300 block of Lions Back Court, where they apprehended 27-year-old John Flores. Flores has been identified as a suspect in the September 9, 2024, homicide of a 15-year-old male in the 1800 block of West North Bear Creek Drive.

Flores, a known gang member, was on Post Release Community Supervision in Merced County. He was arrested for the homicide and booked into Merced County Jail. Investigators believe Flores was accompanied by another individual during the incident and are requesting assistance from the community to help identify the second suspect.
