November 26, 2024 – El Dorado County Sheriff's Office officials report that on November 21, 2024, the Sheriff's Office arrested 45-year-old Michael Steven Raphael of Cameron Park for possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) following an investigation initiated by multiple CyberTips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

The investigation was conducted by the Sheriff's High-Tech Crimes Unit, who are also members of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. Investigators uncovered digital evidence of hundreds of offensive videos. A search warrant was executed at the suspect's residence, where additional evidence was located. The suspect was subsequently booked into the El Dorado County Jail on charges of PC311.11(c)(1) and PC311.11(c)(2).

The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office remains committed to protecting children in our community and beyond. We thank NCMEC, the ICAC Task Force, and our dedicated investigators for their critical work in bringing this case to light.

If you have any information about suspected child exploitation, please report it to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) at www.missingkids.org or contact our office directly.

Together, we can safeguard our most vulnerable.
