Attempted Kidnapping Suspect Arrested in North Fork

December 21, 2024 – Madera County Sheriff’s Office officials report that shortly after 7:00 a.m. on December 20, madera county sheriff logo 20242024, the Madera County Sheriff’s Communications Center received a call reporting a potential attempted kidnapping near the 39000 block of Wyle Ranch Road in North Fork. The caller stated an unidentified male pulled up in a vehicle next to his fifteen-year-old son during his walk to the bus stop and told him to get into the car. The juvenile was able to run away on foot and evade the driver while his father witnessed from a distance and attempted to intervene.

Deputies saturated the area and quickly identified the truck involved. They responded to the address registered to the vehicle and located the suspect there. 39-year-old Brian Sam Davis Jr. of North fork was taken into custody without further incident, and booked into the Madera County Jail on various felony charges including attempted kidnapping.

Madera County Sheriff Tyson Pogue comments, “Our Mountain Patrol deputies displayed exceptional teamwork to quickly identify and apprehend this suspect and thwart any further danger to our community. I’d also like to note this call came in not only right at shift change, but also during preparation for our annual Random Acts of Kindness event, and this group maintained focus on the task at hand for a fast and safe resolution. Well done.”
