December 30, 2024 – Mariposa County Library officials announce that they've been receiving a decent amount of Zip
Book requests but would love to see more!
Zip Books is a grant-funded program that the library was approved to take part in.
It works like this: patrons can request books or books on CD that aren't already in the library's collection. The library then purchases the item through Amazon Prime, and it ships directly to the requestor's home.
The book can be read for three weeks but then needs to be turned in, just like a normal library book. Once the library receives the book, it is added to the library's collection.
It's all about providing quick access to patrons and helping the library build its collection! It's free to take part in. All you need is a library card and to fill out a request form at one of our branches. Children must have their requests signed by a parent/guardian.
To learn more, call 209-966-2140.
