February 7, 2025 - Sacramento, CA – “President Donald Trump’s unjustified release of California’s precious water resources is a dangerous manipulation of California’s water system for political theater.

Zero water from the Terminus and Schafer Dams went to firefighting efforts in Southern California. This stunt risked flooding downstream, depleted critical irrigation reserves, and exacerbated the vulnerabilities of farmers who depend on these resources during the dry season.

Water management in California is a complex and delicate balance that cannot afford to be recklessly disrupted.”
