July 1, 2025 - With summer heating up, Lakes McClure and McSwain are open, stocked with fish, and ready to welcome visitors for a season packed with recreation, relaxation and celebration.

Whether it’s casting a line, pitching a tent, or making a splash, there’s something for everyone this summer—including the return of Splash-n-Dash Aqua Park and the spectacular Lights on the Lake fireworks show on Friday, July 5.
Campgrounds and day-use areas are open at both lakes, offering scenic views, full lake levels, boating, shaded picnic spots and family-friendly amenities. Regular fish plants are underway, making both lakes prime destinations for anglers of all ages.

Mark Your Calendar: July 5 – Lights on the Lake
The 2025 Lights on the Lake fireworks display will begin at dusk or around 9 p.m. on Saturday July 5. Recreation at Lakes McClure and McSwain is open all day with fireworks viewing areas open at McClure Point at 6 p.m. Entrance to the Lake McClure fireworks viewing area will be through the MID Parks Entrance at 9090 Lake McClure Road, Snelling. Visitors are welcome to arrive early and spend the day at Lakes McClure and McSwain.

Splash-n-Dash Wins Top Award – and now opened
The 2025 season also brings big news for Splash-n-Dash Aqua Park at Lake McSwain. The park has been named “Best in Lodging & Recreation” by the Mariposa County Chamber of Commerce, honoring its contributions to tourism and outdoor fun.
