August 14, 2025 - In the week ending August 9, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 224,000, a
decrease of 3,000 from the previous week's revised level. The previous week's level was revised up by 1,000 from 226,000 to 227,000. The 4-week moving average was 221,750, an increase of 750 from the previous week's revised average. The pre vious week's average was revised up by 250 from 220,750 to 221,000.
The advance seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate was 1.3 percent for the week ending August 2, unchanged from the previous week's unrevised rate. The advance number for seasonally adjusted insured unemployment during the week ending August 2 was 1,953,000, a decrease of 15,000 from the previous week's revised level. The previous week's level was revised down by 6,000 from 1,974,000 to 1,968,000. The 4-week moving average was 1,950,750, an increase of 500 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised down by 1,500 from 1,951,750 to 1,950,250.
