October 14, 2025 – Fresno Police Department officials report that two suspects have been arrested in connection with the September 28, 2025, murder of 38-year-old Alejandro Garcia. Homicide detectives learned 45-year-old Laura Castillo and 43-year-old Joey Fernandez, along with another unknown male, drove to victim Garcia’s residence near East Garrett Avenue and South Barton Avenue, where they confronted and began to argue with Garcia. During the confrontation, Fernandez stabbed Garcia multiple times in the upper body. Garcia was later transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased by medical personnel.

Castillo was located and arrested on September 29, 2025, during the service of a residential search warrant.

On Friday, October 10, 2025, Fernandez, who was already in custody at the Fresno County Jail for unrelated charges, was additionally charged with Murder. Detectives are asking anyone with information about this case or the identity of the unknown male to please contact the Fresno Police Department.
