October 19, 2025 – Mariposa County Library officials announce that the library will be pausing its Catheys Valley Pop-Up Branch for a time, starting after Thursday, October 30^th. 

We will continue to be there the next two Thursdays from 2:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M. at McCay Hall, offering the services we have been.

Borrowers who have library cards in Catheys Valley will be able to use their cards at any Mariposa County Library branch, or any San Joaquin Valley Library System locations. However, hold requests will not be sent to Catheys Valley for pick-up until the library resumes offering service there.

We are examining future possibilities for a branch in Catheys Valley but will pause for the upcoming winter season until next steps are formulated. We have very much enjoyed being there and meeting more community members and hopefully planting the seeds to a permanent library branch. We may end up resuming operations at McCay Hall again soon, or some other location in Catheys Valley.
