Community Update: Arrest Warrant Served Related to Ongoing Embezzlement Investigation
November 27, 2025 – Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, Detectives from the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division served an arrest warrant for 58-year-old Shauna Marie Love of Sonora, which was issued by a judge earlier that same day at the request of the Tuolumne County District Attorney’s Office. The charges on the warrant include forty-five (45) counts of felony embezzlement stemming from an extensive, months-long investigation by TCSO detectives that began in June 2024 and remains ongoing.
In June of 2024 a representative from the Tuolumne County Association of Realtors (TCAR) reported significant sums of missing funds they believed had been embezzled by Love who had been employed with the organization as an Executive, where she had full access to the organization’s banking and financial accounts. This information led detectives to initiate a comprehensive investigation.
During their investigation, detectives authored numerous search warrants, including one for Love’s residence, and examined several years of financial and account records. Through their work, detectives identified evidence of unauthorized transactions for personal expenses, with the total amount embezzled currently estimated to be several hundred thousand dollars. This remains an active investigation and no further information will be released at this time.
Love was transported to the Dambacher Detention Center where she was booked on the arrest warrant.
