January 8, 2026 - Sierra National Forest officals report the High Sierra Over Snow crew were happy to see the end of year winter storms make it to Sierra National Forest.

Snow Grooming Operations started on 12/26/2025. They groomed Huntington Lake Road up to Mushroom Rock and the route up to Kaiser Pass.
On Jan 6th Rancheria to Bear Butte was groomed. Crews also groomed to Kaiser Pass and continued up to White Bark Vista.
Snow levels are good at higher elevation.
With a little above average temperature predicted bare spots will exist at lower elevations.
