Courtney Fire information on evacuation status and road closures per CAL FIRE

Effective September 15, 2014 at 6:00 PM the Evacuation Order is lifted for the residents along Road 426 at Courtney Lane and Road 426 at Suncrest Drive and all roads adjoining.

Residents should remain cautious of fire personnel and equipment working in the area.

Road 426 between Courtney Lane and Road 426 at Suncrest Drive is open to RESIDENTS ONLY.

Update for those evacuated due to theCourtney Fire per Madera County Sheriff's Office

The evacuation order is lifted for residents who live between Road 426 at Courtney Ln. and Road 426 at Suncrest Dr. The residents who live below Bass Lake Heights (Below Suncrest Dr.) are allowed re-entry. The roadway will remain closed to residents only in that area. This applies only to residences below Suncrest Drive.

For additional information, residents can call the CAL FIRE information line at (209) 966-4784.

Anyone affected by the Courtney Fire, who may have emergency/medical needs, is advised to come to the Madera County Sheriff's Substation located at 48267 Liberty Drive in Oakhurst. Deputies are prepared to assist.

Conditions:	Firefighters are continuing to build and reinforce containment lines. There continues to be a threat to the Bass Lake Heights community. Access to the fire is difficult due to steep terrain and several structures in the Wildland Urban Interface. Firefighters are experiencing extreme fire behavior conditions due to drought and low fuel moisture.

Madera County Sheriff's Office: Due to the fire burning in Oakhurst and near Bass Lake the following schools are closed: Oakhurst Elementary, Oak Creek Intermediate and Wasuma Elementary 
Red Cross Shelter in Oakhurst -- Okahurst Community Center remains open to both families and pets. Currently there are 7 people seeking shelter in Oakhurst. Only those displaced by fire are being sheltered by the Red Cross in Oakhurst
Coasregold Rodeo Grounds is sheltering large animals.

Madera County Sheriff's Office: Update regarding those still in need of shelter: current number of those seeking shelter in Oakhurst due to the Courtney Fire are: 4 citizens, 12 dogs 2 cats and 2 birds.

Madera County Sheriff's Office: Those Allowed To Return To Their Homes Include Following Areas: Everything North Of Recreation Point Of Bass Lake: World Mark, Slide Creek, Ridgeline, And Cowboy Trail, Recreation Point Recreation Area In Bass Lake
Only Residents Are Allowed Back In.
