Homicide Arrests in Ongoing Investigation 

February 5, 2026 – Fresno Police Department officials report that on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at approximately 9:12 p.m., Central Policing District officers responded to the business complex at Dakota Avenue and Hughes Avenue regarding a shooting victim. Upon arrival, officers located 19-year-old Joe Rodriguez suffering from a gunshot wound. Rodriguez was transported to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment. Despite life-saving efforts, Rodriguez was pronounced deceased by medical staff.

On February 3, 2026, Fresno Police Homicide detectives arrested 21‑year‑old Isiah Mobley and 19‑year‑old Gavin Vasquez. Mobley and Vasquez were booked into the Fresno County Jail on a murder charge.
