April 1, 2026 – Fresno Police Department officials report that on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 10:02 p.m., Southwest Policing District officers responded to the area of Samson Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard regarding a shooting victim. Officers located Perry Paul Espinosa suffering from a gunshot wound and rendered medical aid. Despite life-saving measures, Espinosa was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Homicide detectives learned a disturbance involving multiple subjects had occurred prior to Espinosa being struck by gunfire. Through their investigation, detectives were able to identify 40-year-old Michael Dorsey as the person responsible for the shooting. Immediately following the shooting, Dorsey fled the scene, and a murder warrant has been issued for his arrest. Detectives ask anyone with information regarding Dorsey’s whereabouts to contact the Fresno Police Department.
