July 6, 2021 - Merced – Merced Police are currently investigating a shooting which took place in the 1100 block of ‘R’ Street in the City of Merced. Officers responded to the area at approximately 1:54 P.M. for reports of a vehicle being struck by gunfire. While checking the area for additional victims and evidence, officers were approached by a witness who provided a video and pictures of the suspect. Through the course of the investigation, officers were able to positively identify the suspect as Miguel Campos (20). Officers checked the area for Campos but were unable to locate his whereabouts. Campos should be considered armed and dangerous. Please do not approach him if you see him. We are asking the public to contact the Merced Police Department immediately if you see him.
