February 10, 2023 – San Bernardino County Sheriff Department officials report on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Crimes San Bernardino County Sheriff logoAgainst Children (CAC) Detail, Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station, the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), and the Specialized Enforcement Division (SED) conducted an investigation regarding physical abuse to a two-year-old male victim.

The victim’s father, Dillion Forst, took the victim to St. Mary’s Hospital. Forst reported to medical staff the victim sustained contusions on his face, head, neck, back, and arms because Forst tripped and fell while he held the victim in his arms. The medical staff notified the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and DCFS of the injuries and the statements given by Forst were not consistent with the injuries. CAC responded and assumed the investigation.

The victim was transferred to Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) with severe injuries. Doctors at LLUMC determined the injuries were caused by non-accidental trauma, consistent with child abuse.

On Wednesday, February 8, 2023, Forst was arrested and booked into the Central Detention Center. Forst was being held for violation of California Penal Code Sections 273a(a) Willful Cruelty to a Child, and PC 205 Aggravated Mayhem, with a bail amount of $1,000,000.
