Train Collision- San Diego
May 25, 2023 - San Diego County Sheriff Department officials report that an investigation is underway after a deadly train collision in the City of San Diego.
It happened on Wednesday, May 24 just after 1:30 p.m. in the 2700 block of Morena Boulevard in the City of San Diego. When San Diego Police Officers arrived, they found a woman who was hit by a northbound COASTER train.
The Sheriff's Transit Enforcement Unit (TEU) investigates incidents along the routes of the North County Transit District which the COASTER uses. San Diego Police requested the Sheriff's TEU respond to conduct the investigation.
The Medical Examiner's Office will make a positive identification of the woman, as well as determine cause and manner of death pending notification of her family.
