New Deputy on Training Makes Another Drug Arrest in Bellflower
November 18, 2024 – Lakewood Sheriff's Station officials report that Deputy Romero and her partner were patrolling the area of Alondra Blvd. and Pacific Avenue, which is a high crime area. While patrolling the area they saw a male adult riding a bicycle commit two vehicle code violations. They detained him and discovered that he didn’t have a form of identification, at which time he was subject to a search and placed in the back seat of the patrol car. Deputy Romero searched the male and found him to be in possession of methamphetamines.
Newly assigned deputies on training are taught the importance of enforcing quality of life crimes, such as drinking in public, and target specific areas that are known to attract illegal drug use.
This was Deputy Romero’s second drug arrest of a bicyclist in a high crime area in as many days. She is doing a great job at learning her new job and doing her part to keep our community safe.
Be safe everyone!
