Operation Blitz
February 6, 2025 – Ventura County Sheriff's Office officials report that on January 24, 2025, the Ventura County Organized Retail Theft Task Force, in collaboration with the Oxnard Police Department’s Property Crimes Unit (PCU) and local agencies, executed a successful operation named “Blitz” at the Esplanade Shopping Center in Oxnard, CA.
Partnering with Home Depot and neighboring businesses, the operation led to:
15 Adult Arrests (13 male, 2 female)
Offenses:
* 9 Felonies
* 4 Misdemeanors
* 1 Warrant Arrest
The Ventura County Organized Retail Theft Task Force was formed after the Sheriff’s Office was awarded grant funding under the California Retail Theft Prevention Grant Program. This program formalizes a coordinated effort, overseen by the Sheriff’s Office, involving all law enforcement agencies in Ventura County to prevent and combat the estimated $10 million yearly loss from organized retail theft, vehicle/vehicle parts theft and cargo theft.
