Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by Multiple Vehicles in Hit-and-Run
August 5, 2025 – Los Angeles, CA – Los Angeles Police Department officials report that the South Traffic Division detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspects involved in a hit-and-run traffic collision that killed a pedestrian.
On August 3, 2025, around 9:00 p.m., a vehicle was traveling northbound on La Brea Avenue when it struck a pedestrian who was crossing eastbound from Roseland Street in an unmarked crosswalk. Once down on the roadway, the pedestrian, described as a 61-year-old male, was struck by at least two additional vehicles that were traveling northbound on La Brea Avenue. None of the vehicles that struck the pedestrian stopped to identify themselves, render aid, or call 911 to get him assistance as required by law.
The Los Angeles Fire Department’s paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased while he was being transported to a nearby hospital.
The identity of the victim is not being released until additional family is notified.
Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.
On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members that provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
