Dry and locally breezy conditions will continue across southern New Mexico into far west Texas today, while much of the Southwest and southern Great Basin is very dry with afternoon relative humidity of 5-20% and poor overnight recovery. A cold front will move through the Northwest, northern Rockies, and northern Great Basin today with scattered showers and thunderstorms. A cold front will slowly move through Florida today with isolated thunderstorms and cooler temperatures. However, the front will stall in Texas with scattered to widespread thunderstorms developing over central Texas, with some storms becoming severe and producing heavy rain. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast for the Great Lakes, with drier conditions for the East Coast outside of Florida. Showers are likely to continue for south-central Alaska, with isolated thunderstorms for the eastern Interior, while moderate trade winds continue for Hawai’i.
