Confirmed!
June 2, 2024 – Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks announce peregrine falcons are nesting at Moro Rock in Sequoia National Park.
Our park biologists recently surveyed and confirmed peregrine falcon nesting activity at Moro Rock. Falcons can be very sensitive to human activity in their nest area and may abandon it if disturbed.
To protect these beautiful bird babies, rock climbing closures are in effect from April 1st through August 15th.
If you are planning on climbing in the park, please check our annual rock-climbing closures at www.nps.gov/seki/planyourvisit/climbingclosures.htm.
