Arrest Made in Madera for Lewd and Lascivious Acts with a Minor
June 6, 2024 – Madera County Sheriff’s Office officials report that the Investigations Division was contacted by two victims who reported being 
molested by Jesus Cortes-Padilla. As a result of their disclosures, an investigation was initiated. During the course of their investigation, Detectives identified additional victims, both juvenile and adult, who reported sexual harassment, solicitation of sexual favors, and inappropriate conduct by Cortes-Padilla.
On June 4, 2024, Madera County Sheriff’s Detectives arrested 35-year-old Madera resident Jesus Cortes-Padilla for numerous charges including attempted lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14, molestation of a child under 18, and solicitation of prostitution. He is currently being held at the Madera County Jail. On June 5, Detectives applied for and were granted a non-release order and bail enhancement motion.
We believe Jesus Cortes-Padilla has potentially victimized more individuals in our community. If you are a victim, or believe you know someone who is, we encourage you to reach out to our office.
Madera County Sheriff Tyson Pogue remarks, “Our detectives have worked tirelessly on this case for quite some time. They see a pattern of behavior in Cortes-Padilla, and know he attempts to lure girls and women with promises of money. Many of these victims are reluctant to come forward, for fear they will be charged with crimes or he will seek revenge. We are asking each of them to step forward and allow us to seek justice on their behalf.”
