April 6, 2018 - I am writing in enthusiastic support of Heather Bernikoff for County Supervisor of District 3. Heather was one of the very first residents of Mariposa that we met after moving to Mariposa ten years ago, together with her husband David on their beautiful ranch in Hornitos.

From the very beginning, Heather Bernikoff has impressed and inspired me with her passion for Mariposa and its cultural heritage, her articulate advocacy on political issues that matter to Mariposans, her civic engagement as a planning commissioner for Mariposa County, and her significant professional experience in fundraising and project management. Throughout the years I have known her, I have witnessed Heather energetically and generously donating her time, experience and ideas to efforts in the public interest, particularly during the founding of the public Sierra Foothill Charter School.

As a tenured Professor in the public University of California, I know how important accountability, integrity, and leadership are in our public representatives. Heather Bernikoff brings a combination of experience and talent, integrity of character, and pride of place that would be difficult to replace or find anywhere. I cannot think of anyone more qualified to lead and represent the interests of District 3 in Mariposa County than Heather Bernikoff, and I endorse her candidacy whole-heartedly.
