October 2, 2018 - As a former Mariposa teacher and current school board member, I have known Judy Eppler for 30 years. Mariposa is fortunate to have had her expertise on the school board for the past 7 years because not only has she worked as a teacher, principal, and district administrator, she currently works as an educational consultant for the Fresno County Office of Education where she stays current with state policies and regulations.
School board members need to understand the multitude of legalities sent down by the State of California and Judy does. She has expertise in the many, many areas that the board deals with monthly such as curriculum, student support services, our LCAP (Local Control and Accountability Plan) which is our local district plan and MTSS (Multi-tierred Systems of Support) which is our student behavior system; Special Education; personnel, and the complex budget. And since the passage of the school bond (Measure L), the board spent months studying the needs of our school facilities, and we are now in the process of implementing Phase One at the high school and have approved many smaller projects also.
Judy has spent her entire adult life working on these type of educational issues, and we need her to continue doing so for benefit of Mariposa and our students.
