December 4, 2020 - HOORAY for Ruth Sellers, the "CONSCIENCE" of Mariposa!  Despite the mean-spirited comments thrown at her, this amazing senior gentlelady continues to speak her mind for the good of all Mariposans!  Her fantastic memory goes back MANY years, and she can recall many people and events long past.  Her goals are to keep our Supervisors' focus on doing a good job for MARIPOSANS, because that's what they are hired to do!  I believe her letters also foster a return to COMMON SENSE and fiscal responsibility.

Ruth was educated in our public schools when it taught reading, writing, arithmetic and SELF CONTROL, and disrespect was NOT allowed.  Also, NO "social engineering", which IMO is basically "brainwashing".  In those days, respect for God, flag, country and authority was paramount.  We saluted our flag, and were educated about why America is the envy of the world, because of our CONSTITUTION, separation of powers and capitalism.

We had the dangers of socialism/communism illustrated by assigned reading, so we'd have a basic understanding of WHY it didn't work for long, and greatly or completely eliminated our freedoms.  We learned civics, and WHY capitalism DID work, by GENERATING wealth, vs. thinking wealth is "static" (i.e., can't be increased), and must be controlled and "redistributed", as in socialism (which commonly evolves into communism).

IMO President Trump's love for our country and Constitution far outweighs his faults.  Many lies about him are repeated as "truth".  Intrenched politicians hate Trump because he threatens their "bottom line", i.e., wealth. 

I say HOORAY for RUTH, and her input, and HOORAY for President Trump's efforts to keep America a FREE "representative Republic".
