September 3, 2024 – I am endorsing Suzette Prue for the position of director of the hospital board of the John C. Fremont Healthcare District. She has been active with the Fremont Foundation for over four decades and was the co-creator of their largest continual fundraiser. She also served as a member of the board of directors of the healthcare district for over 15 years and led the campaign for Measure G to keep the hospital open. More recently Suzette has been active as a patient advocate and co-sponsored the successful campaign for Measure O, which is allowing us to build a new hospital.

She has recently been nominated for the Association of California Healthcare District Trustee of the Year Award, which recognizes those who have “notably impacted their healthcare district and community by taking significant steps to deliver outstanding governance, strategic planning and partnership.”

Suzette has been my neighbor for over three decades and has always been caring and conscientious. She takes the responsibility of a hospital board member very seriously and devotes countless hours addressing the many concerns and commitments associated with the responsibilities of the board. Those qualities along with her vast experience and sincere desire to improve access to healthcare makes her highly qualified to be the director and help usher in new life for our local hospital.

I am confident that Suzette will continue to work diligently to see that our healthcare district provides for the needs of the community for which she cares so deeply. Her experience will be valuable when dealing with all the planning required in building a new hospital and with the continued effort to improve access to quality care in our community.
