JCFHF - $1,000 Grant Awarded
May 22, 2024 – The JCF Hospital Foundation is pleased to support Victoria Crane, a Certified Nursing Assistant in John C. Fremont Healthcare District's Acute Department on her journey to become a registered nurse. In order to apply to her preferred nursing program, Victoria needs to complete one required pre-nursing course. Victoria submitted a grant application to the Foundation to offset the cost of the course and was granted the maximum amount, $1,000.

"I cannot wait to be a registered nurse and to be able to continue giving excellent care to our community members," said Victoria.
"People do not often realize how important rural health care is, especially high-quality healthcare," continued Victoria. "For these reasons, I am so passionate and driven to ensure that I can be a part of the healthcare we currently have in a greater magnitude with a greater level of skills/education."
The JCF Hospital Foundation believes helping staff further their education is a key element to strengthening rural communities. The Foundation is thankful to Victoria for making the effort to further enhance her skills and for bringing what she learns back to benefit the Mariposa County community.
"The support [the Foundation] provides for me, and individuals like me, is truly amazing," said Victoria.
In addition to grants to staff members, the Foundation offers grants to Mariposa County High School seniors pursuing degrees in healthcare. Three $1,000 grants were awarded this year.
The Foundation also offers Community Health Grants of up to $1,000 to 501(c)(3) organizations, Tribes, or public agencies that benefit people either served by John C. Fremont Healthcare District or residing within the jurisdiction of the Healthcare District, which is Mariposa County.
