November 21, 2024 - In the week ending November 16, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 213,000, a decrease of 6,000 from the department of labor seal logoprevious week's revised level. This is the highest level for insured unemployment since November 13, 2021 when it was 1,974,000. The previous week's level was revised down by 1,000 from 1,873,000 to 1,872,000. The 4-week moving average was 1,879,250, an increase of 5,000 from the previous week's revised average. This is the highest level for this average since November 27, 2021 when it was 1,928,000. The previous week's average was revised down by 250 from 1,874,500 to 1,874,250.
