Scam Alert – Fake Amador County Planning Commission Invoices
July 29, 2026 – Amador County Sheriff's Office officials report that they have been notified of a 
scam involving the Amador County Planning Commission.
An unknown individual has created fraudulent email accounts using the names of Amador County departments and employees to send fake invoices to residents. These emails appear to target individuals who have recently had projects considered by the Amador County Planning Commission.
Please be aware that the Amador County Planning Department does not send invoices by email asking you to wire them money. Official business of this nature is conducted in person at the Planning Department office, or through their website.
If you receive an email requesting payment and are unsure whether it is legitimate, do not respond or make any payment. Instead, contact the Amador County Sheriff's Office for assistance in verifying its authenticity.
