November 5, 2024 – Lakewood Sheriff's Station officials report that Deputies responded to the 20700 block of Roseton Avenue to investigate an assault with a deadly weapon where a suspect assaulted a victim with a rifle. The deputies took an initial report and sent the case to detectives to follow up. Lakewood Detectives identified the suspect and conducted a search warrant of his residence. During the search, the detectives located 3 handguns, 2 rifles, a shotgun, hundreds of rounds of ammunition and some narcotics. It should be known that the suspect has numerous prior felony convictions. California penal code 29800(a)(1) prohibits convicted felons from owning, purchasing, or possessing any firearms.

The suspect (Lakewood resident) was arrested and charged with numerous felonies. Also, several illegally possessed firearm were removed from our community. During the booking process, jail staff discovered that the suspect was also on probation for a separate felony conviction.

We want the public to know that Lakewood Detectives work hard to thoroughly investigate cases and present the proper charges for filing at the district attorney’s office.
