February 22, 2024 - Grass Valley Police Department officials report that they have received recent reports that a scammer posing as Nevada County Sheriff's Office Deputy Travis has been calling residents and threatening to arrest them if they do not send him money.
Law Enforcement will NEVER call you and ask for money!!!
If you receive a call from a "deputy" or "officer" requesting money, DO NOT provide them with your personal information or pay them any money, just hang up.
If you would ever like to confirm that an actual law enforcement officer is attempting to contact you, call the Nevada County Regional Dispatch Center at 530-265-7880 and ask to speak with that officer.
